Mini album using Tsunami Rose printable journal kit

I created this mini album using the Life Abloom printable journal kit from Tsunami Rose. Daisy is the owner and designer of Tsunami Rose and she creates the most gorgeous printables! She had contacted me a while back and asked if I would like to work with one of her kits. I was so excited to start making this book! The kit is so beautiful and the designs were just perfect for some pictures that I have from a recent trip to our local botanical garden. Scroll down for the video. You can visit the Tsunami Rose shop at www.zibbet.com/tsunamirose

New Printable 50 State Embellishment Set

This new set of printable embellishments is now available in my shop. It includes the 50 States + DC - one set in assorted colors and one in grey. How cute would these be in your travel journals or layouts? Each circle is sized at 2.25 inches. They are super easy to use - just print them out and cut with scissors or punch them out using a 2" circle punch! Use them in your personal projects as many times as you want!

Stay tuned for projects using these embellishments and some helpful hints for working with printables. Have a great weekend!

Adjustable binding for a mini album

I wanted to create a mini album that had a lot of pockets so I thought a paper bag mini album would be appropriate. The problem was that I wasn't sure how many pages I would need. I didn't want to use binding rings because I really wanted something different. So, this is what I came up with - an adjustable binding using elastic and a swivel clasp. To see how I created this book, please check out the video tutorial. :)

Layout: You Rock!

Here is my latest completed layout. I really wanted to scrap this day but unfortunately, this was the only picture I took and it was HORRIBLE! To make the best of it, I used brightly colored paper and some die cut frames to enhance the picture as best I could. The video  below will show you how the layout went together and the story behind the photo. Thanks for stopping by!

Resizing photos using an iPad or iPhone

This video demonstrates how I use my iPad or iPhone to resize my pictures for printing. I use smaller pictures in mini albums and in my Project Life spreads. I easily create small prints using my iOS device and Canon Selphy printer.

My 2013 approach to scrapbooking

I'm super excited to have completed my very first December daily album. When I first started the project I thought it was going to be a complete failure and I would not be able to keep up and that I would just quit halfway through the month. Two of the things that I believe helped me to keep on top of this project were one, printing my photos at home and two, having my embellishments and journaling cards ready before I sat down to scrap. I like printing my photos at home because sometimes the inspiration tends to leave me before I'm able to send my pictures out, get them printed and get them back home. Then they sit in the "to be scrapped" box for a indefinite period of time. Having my embellishments and journaling cards ready also saves me time because I'm not wandering around my craft room looking for embellishments and journaling spots to using my book.

That being said I'm now extremely inspired by my December daily book and would like to continue the process in 2013. To create these books, I followed this wonderful tutorial HERE. My plan is to scrap a picture a day in a journal or mini album type of book with just a journaling card and maybe a very simple embellishment to go along with it. For those days when I have more than one picture -like for some sort of event or occasion - my overflow pictures will go into the project life type of album. I'm excited for my updated scrapbooking process so stay tuned for updates and pictures!

Tag Projects... mini album and a gift tag

Today I want to share a couple of super quick projects that I whipped up! First up is this fun tag for a 4th of July gift. The rosette and layered stars make the tag very dimensional but still super easy to put together.

The next project is this fun mini album:

The tags are equivalent to #8 shipping tags but I cut them on my Silhouette Cameo. The tab and score line cut with the tag so assembly is super easy! Digital cutting files to make these projects may be purchased from my Meylah shop http://meylah.com/littlepeaceofmyheart Once purchase, files are available for immediate download.

For more information on these projects, please watch this video here:

My latest mini album

Today I wanted to quickly share my latest creation. I fell in love with this paper as soon as I saw it but it took me a while to actually use it! It is the Butterfly Garden collection from Pink Paislee and I absolutely love everything about it!

The mini is 6x6" and it is a paper bag album. There is a lot of room for pics and journaling in this little book!

This album is available for purchase in my Etsy shop!
